Embellished Shirt

The second time I wore this super comfy shirt I did a load of whites and splashed bleach on the pocket.

Bummer. Several ideas went through my head, using a bleach pen to make a design...but I am not very good at free handing, ribbon...nah, replace the whole pocket...nah, ooh how about trying something out of my usual relm, something kinda girly like these fabric yo-yo's? I saw them on a shirt here and kinda liked it.

Since all of my sewing stuff is packed in boxes in a storage unit :( I headed to Jo Ann Fabrics to find some matching fabric. I borrowed my MIL's sewing room and started cutting out circles, keeping in mind the finished product will be about half the size.

Then using your basic hand stitch, stitch all the way around the circle bunching as you go. Once you reach the end tie it off. Easy as that, or if you have a bigger circle it may be easier to run it around your sewing machine and bunch that, but I suppose that depends on how good of a sewer you are.

Because mine will go in the wash machine I tacked down the middle with a small zig-zag stitch to make sure it was good and secure.

Finished product...

Horses

It is a beautiful sunny Sunday morning here in Missoula, MT. We are all moved out of our apartment, everything is in storage except the necesities, and we are staying in R's parents guest bedroom. This morning after getting up I took the dogs for a walk around their property and took some pictures. They breed horses and it is baby season, they have one that has been born and four more on the way. While I was trying to get pictures of the little baby I was surrounded by big guys. Good thing I like the smell of warm horse breath!

Have a great sunny Sunday, I am going to go enjoy it!!

Tyler Bryant

Never heard of him? Neither had I until my Dad and Sister bought tickets to see him at a little venue here in Missoula. I did a little looking up on him and he is said to be the next big guitar player. Nashville Scene names him as "an artist to watch" in 2010. He doesn't even have a CD out yet but you can hear some of his music on his website, or look him up on YouTube.

The concert was last night and he ROCKED! He was so much fun to watch rock out on his pink guitar, he was full of energy and you could tell he LOVED what he was doing!

We did not bring a camera (I know stupid us) but one of us had a pretty good cell that got decent pictures.

They were in town working on the Rock Prophecies project. I am so glad we went these guys are going places.

Better News...

We put an offer on another house. We offered 4.5k less then it was listed, they countered right in the middle and we accepted! I know we still have a few steps to go but this is good news.

It is a tiny little place but it is a stick built, single house with a nice yard. There is no garage but at the price we are getting we an put one in. The bedrooms may be small but all you do is sleep there right? I will be spending most of my time here....

R says it is the only reason I like the house, which is not true (but it does makeup for the tiny bedrooms) I also love the hardwood floors and the fact that it will be OURS no more RENTING!!
