Photographer

(Okay last post for the night and I should be caught up)

This one just make me proud. I am not the best photographer but with the help of a book, the internet and Photoshop I am getting there. But none the less my little man is already following in my footsteps :)

Jax took this one of me taking pictures of him
Guess he knows what button to press

iHeart Faces: Anything but a Face

I found this website a few month ago and love looking at all the entries for their weekly challenges and reading through the tutorials on the different settings for my camera. This weeks challenge is "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes! - Anything but a Face" and I knew exactly what photo I wanted to enter. So here it is my first entry!

We had a little photo shoot yesterday, it started out a little rocky but once he pooped allover everything he got a little happier. Here are some of my favorite pictures.

Smiley Boy

Little ManMan has been smiling an giggling like crazy.
He loves it when we play with his nose and lips. It always gets a big smile out if him.
I finally got a few pictures of it, they are a little blurry but still the cutest thing I have ever seen!

Cutest thing EVER right?!?!

The worst part about digital cameras....I don't have any prints to show people or keep in a scrap book. I am going to have to get a lot better about visiting the photo center.

He also took his first real bath with Mommy this past week. He loved it! He lounged around for a while then started kicking and splashing. We are going to have a little fish on our hands I just know it.

Horses

It is a beautiful sunny Sunday morning here in Missoula, MT. We are all moved out of our apartment, everything is in storage except the necesities, and we are staying in R's parents guest bedroom. This morning after getting up I took the dogs for a walk around their property and took some pictures. They breed horses and it is baby season, they have one that has been born and four more on the way. While I was trying to get pictures of the little baby I was surrounded by big guys. Good thing I like the smell of warm horse breath!

Have a great sunny Sunday, I am going to go enjoy it!!

Updates..

Not much to update on. We are in the middle of our busiest hockey month. The first weekend in February, Idaho Falls came to Missoula to play three games against us. The girls played extremely well against a tough team. They may have lost all three according to the scoreboard, but they where very closely matched. The girls never got down on themselves while loosing and played their hearts out until the very end.
Last weekend was spent in Salmon ID, where we participated in a tournament. All of the teams were closely matched and fun to watch. It is fun to see how far some of the girls have come in just half a season.

Here are a couple pictures from Salmon.

This weekend we are holding the Sweetheart Tournament in Missoula, and the following weekend is the Girls State Development Camp in Bozeman, MT, where hopefully I will be one of the evaluators.

Mod Podge Fun

Due to hockey and work I have not had a whole ton of free time this week to do a very big project but I have 'fixed' a few little things that have been bugging me.

First is the spice rack I got after our wedding. I figured it would have a few spices and a few empty bottles so I could put my own spices in, I was wrong. I cook, but nothing to fancy and half of these spices I had never heard of so the whole thing sat unused on my counter for over a year, not any more.

I cut out 20 circles to cover the tops of the jars, Mod Podged them to the tops along with the names of the spices I printed off of the computer.

I found the most used spices in my cupboard (onion powder, garlic powder, cinnamon, etc) that was not included in the spice rack. Then I filled the newly decorated bottles with those and the old bottles with the spices I do not use.

Much better!

My other Mod Podge project so far this week was to cover the logo on my camera bag. R got me this great bag for Christmas, he dose not know much about cameras and thought I had a Sony, I have a Canon.
I do not have a before picture but where I covered the case with fabric it said Sony (not only do I have a Canon, and you cant keep a Canon in a Sony bag, I also do not like free advertising). I cut two pieces of fabric to match the area I wanted to cover, applied a layer of MP, my fabric, and three coats of MP on top. Good as new!

Camera Strap Slipcover

I love color. I hate free advertising. My camera strap was a large black billboard for Canon. And that had to be stopped.

Solution :

My strap measured 24.5" x 1.5" so I cut a strip of material 26.5" x 4"

Fold in the end 1/2" and press, then fold 1/2" again (your raw edge is now tucked it) and press. Do this to both ends.

Stitch ends, I used a large zig-zag in a contrasting color.

Fold your cover in half length-wise pin and press flat. Sew closed, make sure you reinforce the ends. Turn right side out and press one more time.
The ends of the strap are slightly thicker than your cover so I used a small rubber band to hold it closed.

Pull the cover over your strap and ta da! You can make them in all sorts of colors and you will never get board.

Photo op over. ShitHead or erm Zoey thought it was a toy for her, oh joy (insert dripping sarcasm)

I also tried making this one out of old hockey skate laces, not sure I like the way it turned out, I may have to try again...

More Camera

I LOVE my camera! The pictures are so crisp and clear. This is one of my favorite from this weekend. I spent hours playing with all the settings trying different things that my old point and shoot could not do. And an added bonus I did not realize is that this camera also shoots video. Not grainy shaky video like some, but beautiful video! I am in LOVE

Camera!

I am sooo excited! My new camera should be here TODAY! Right now my little sister is house sitting for me so when the FedEX person shows up she can sign for it and I don't have to wait until after Thanksgiving.

My dad has had a Canon Rebel XS something or other for a few years and has loved it. Since he showed me what I know I decided to go with a similar camera. I decided on the Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S IS Digital SLR, I got mine here because I just paid of my Dell card three months early (one of those no interest pay off by a certain date things) and decided to reward my self.
