Updates..

Not much to update on. We are in the middle of our busiest hockey month. The first weekend in February, Idaho Falls came to Missoula to play three games against us. The girls played extremely well against a tough team. They may have lost all three according to the scoreboard, but they where very closely matched. The girls never got down on themselves while loosing and played their hearts out until the very end.
Last weekend was spent in Salmon ID, where we participated in a tournament. All of the teams were closely matched and fun to watch. It is fun to see how far some of the girls have come in just half a season.

Here are a couple pictures from Salmon.

This weekend we are holding the Sweetheart Tournament in Missoula, and the following weekend is the Girls State Development Camp in Bozeman, MT, where hopefully I will be one of the evaluators.

Hockey! and Other Randoms

A few random things I wanted to share.

First Zoey...

She had her tongue sticking out for a good 10mins, just wondering around...R saw her, started laughing and picked her up. She hung out for a few minutes then jumped down and wandered around some more, I finally touched it so she would put it back in her mouth and we could move on.

Second Bones....

Just look at that cutie!!

Lastly....

Sidonie and I are playing in the 10th annual Flying Mules hockey tournament here in Missoula this weekend. Our first game is this afternoon.

Go ICY HOT!!

Christmas, Sewing, Catching up

Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! I know I am a tad bit late but I have been go, go, going since Christmas. I hope everyone's Christmas was as enjoyable as mine was and you got to spend time with family and friends and eat waaay too much food! We got to spend Christmas eve with R's parents and Christmas day with mine, it is so nice to have both our parents so close.

Yesterday was the first day in eight days I was not at an ice rink. New Years week the girls had extra practices to get ready for the Kalispell tournament and New Years Eve R and I went skating just the two of us. Friday morning we drove up to Kalispell had two games, had another two games on Sat, and one more Sunday morning. We won 4 lost one, to ID Falls a very close game and the kind of competition we will have at state.

It the little spare time I have had I have been putting my new sewing machine to use (thank you mom!) First order of business was to make a cover for it since I really have no room and it most likely will be living on the dining room table for awhile. I found the heavy duty fabric on the sale table at Joann's, and got some bias tape to add some color.

I do not know the measurements because I cut and pinned, cut and repined. I used one long panel to cover the front, top and back, and two small rectangles to cover the sides.

The kittens got a new 'cat' bed for Christmas (it is round, fuzzy, has a head and a tail) When we first gave it to them Zoey would grab the tail and drag it down the hallway growling. She has accepted it but does not sleep there much, mostly it is Ally's as you can see.

Ornaments

So I did these a while ago..okay maybe it was only two weekends ago but I have been so busy it I am losing track of time.

Mod Podge I love this stuff. I haven't played with it for years but I still have a few of the projects my mom and I did. I went into Michaels for...uh well...oh! I think I was looking for some ribbon to hang my Angel ornaments and got sidetracked (a very dangerous thing). They had dimensional paper ornaments perfect for decorating, sorry I do not have a picture of just them. I grabbed 3 round ones (one for each cat) and two stars. And of course I had to find some Christmasy paper to use.

I cut out two sides for each ornament, making sure each one was about 1/8" smaller than the ornament.

Then I painted the edge, and up the side of each ornament with white acrylic paint. I put a layer of Mod Podge on the cardboard side and place the scrapbook paper over and put another layer of Mod Podge ontop, making sure to smooth out the bubbles and center the circle.

While letting side one dry I cut out a picture of each of my cats (maybe someday I will do this project again with a picture of a dog or even better...my own child!) and cut a hole in the matching three pieces to make frames. Once they were dry I Mod Podged both the picture and the second piece of paper to side two and let them dry.

Our kitties Sully (gray) Ally (top) and ShitHead AKA Zoey

I am sometimes very inpatient especially when waiting for things to dry, so I used some of the the polka-dot scraps and Mod Podge and spruced up the little clothespins that hold our stockings.
