Daddys Last Game

Last night was Robies last hockey game of the season. Jaxton was awake for most of it taking in everything. I snapped this picture with my horrible cell phone camera but it was too cute not to keep.

Congratulations Ladies!

I know its a little late but because I took two days off last week for the State Tourney I am behind at work. Soooo....

They took SECOND!! In STATE!! The Girls played their hearts out and gave it all they had, 110%. It was such a close game, a few questionable calls by the referees (or lack there of). Glasgow scored with about ten minutes left in the third period to give them a 1-0 lead. Missoula scored with about two minutes left, but the referees called off the goal because once again the goalies helmet 'fell off'. So Glasgow took state in a 1-0 game. Second is the best the girls program has ever done at state, last year they did't win a single game in the tournament!

Congrats Missoula U19 Lady Bruins, and thanks for the great season. You were a joy to coach and I look forward to next year!

This is it

The Missoula Lady Bruins High School team is about to play for the State Championship. They have fought hard to get where they are now, many ups and downs but they have had one common goal. To Win. They have banded together whenever a player need help or support, they have practiced hard and poured their hearts into this sport. They have one final game to play, and they are ready.

The Missoulian has a small article in this mornings paper you can read it here

Necklaces and Hockey

My hockey girls are so creative! They gathered broken glass from the rink a few months back when one of the boys broke the plexiglass that surrounds the ice and we had a little get together this weekend. We had a potluck type lunch and all sat around and made necklaces from the glass. A couple of the girls broke it into smaller pieces, then we sanded all the edges and wrapped them in wire. Well, Marisa did most of the wire wrapping because the rest of us hand never done it before. I think they turned out nice and it was fun to be around the girls off ice and away from the rink.

A few of us made other things, I made a pair of earrings to match and some of the girls made rings.

Part Deux..

The Missoula Lady Bruins hosted the First Annual Sweetheart Tournament here in Missoula this weekend and they played awesome! We won our two games Saturday, one against Kalispell Lady Flames, and the other against Bozeman. Sunday morning we played against Salmon and tied! What a close game, they scored in the last few seconds to tie it up. Sunday afternoon we played in the championship game once again facing off against Salmon. Both teams wanted the win, but our girls rallied and beat them 4-0!!

Way to go girls!!

Next up....State!

Updates..

Not much to update on. We are in the middle of our busiest hockey month. The first weekend in February, Idaho Falls came to Missoula to play three games against us. The girls played extremely well against a tough team. They may have lost all three according to the scoreboard, but they where very closely matched. The girls never got down on themselves while loosing and played their hearts out until the very end.
Last weekend was spent in Salmon ID, where we participated in a tournament. All of the teams were closely matched and fun to watch. It is fun to see how far some of the girls have come in just half a season.

Here are a couple pictures from Salmon.

This weekend we are holding the Sweetheart Tournament in Missoula, and the following weekend is the Girls State Development Camp in Bozeman, MT, where hopefully I will be one of the evaluators.

Hockey! and Other Randoms

A few random things I wanted to share.

First Zoey...

She had her tongue sticking out for a good 10mins, just wondering around...R saw her, started laughing and picked her up. She hung out for a few minutes then jumped down and wandered around some more, I finally touched it so she would put it back in her mouth and we could move on.

Second Bones....

Just look at that cutie!!

Lastly....

Sidonie and I are playing in the 10th annual Flying Mules hockey tournament here in Missoula this weekend. Our first game is this afternoon.

Go ICY HOT!!
