Calander Board

Yay I got a project finished, I have oh four or five projects that I am working on right now all waiting to be completed.

Before

This one I have have been planing for a while now but I just could not find the right frame. On Saturday my Mom, Sister, Jaxton an I went shopping. It took a little while and some digging through secondhand stores but I found one.

After

I sanded and painted the frame with left over paint from the island. The cork board I had left over from another project so I measured for a piece of glass to fill the rest of the frame and mounted all of it on two pieces of card board. Behind the glass I glued scrap booking paper the cover the cardboard. Then I cut strips of adhesive vinyl to make the calender grid and used my Cricut machine to cut the letters for the days of the week and the 'menu'. All of the vinyl is adhered to the back of the glass so if I ever want to change the paper pattern it will be a snap.

Now I need to find or make some cute thumbtacks for the cork side and make some kind of system to organize the bills that need paid each week. Currently they are just stuck to the fridge with heavy duty magnets.

Venison Pot Pie

Yummy!

Robie loves chicken pot pie and we have a ton of venison stew meat from last year and this year. It is one of the cuts I have a hard time finding recipes for, I usually just end up cutting it into strips and using it in tacos. But this time I got a little creative. I did not follow a recipe but basically made venison stew and put it in a pie shell :)

Venison Pot Pie

stew meat
2 potatoes cut into bite size pieces, cooked
2 carrots, chopped
2 stalks celery. chopped
onion (I forgot to buy one so I used extra onion powder)
2 pks brown gravy mix
2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
onion powder
garlic powder
pepper
2 pie crusts

First cook the meat with the onion and garlic powder, pepper. Add the Worcestershire sauce, celery, carrots and onion. Cook until just tender. Meanwhile make your brown gravy, I started with just one pack of mix and it was not enough so I made up another (I guess it depends on how much you can fit in your pie with all your other stuff :).

Add all your ingredients together and stir to cover, put in your pie plate and top with the second pie shell, be sure to make slits in the top for steam. I baked my at 425 for about 30 mins or until the crust was nice and brown. Enjoy!!

Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Yum! If you know me you know that I love hot spicy things, especially good bone in buffalo wings (there really is no other kind). Tonight I made a really great pizza, I can't give you a recipe because I didn't follow one, I just kinda made it up as I went along, and I don't measure things.

I used a packet of quick pizza dough that you just add water to and cooked up some chicken. For the sauce I mixed light ranch (don't tell R) and Franks Buffalo Wing sauce until I liked the flavor and dumped it on the crust (dumped as in I LOVE sauce), sprinkled shredded chicken, mixed pre-shredded Italian cheese and olives on top and baked according to the directions on the crust, and Voila!!
