Work Woes

My baby is 6 weeks old today.

He is smiling it Mommy and Daddy,

He is making cooing noises,

He is trying really hard to roll over, loves to bounce up and down

He is a total ladies man.

It makes me so sad to think that in two days I have to start work again and will not get to be around him all day.

I am so jealous off all the stay at home moms who get to watch their child's every big milestone and even the small ones.

I want to spend every day at home with him.

I have been so spoiled these past 6 weeks, just the 3 of us at home with nothing better to do than watch him sleep.

I am so afraid that I am going to miss everything.

Even Robie gets to stay home and see him as he has not been called back work.

Look at that little cutie sitting on his Daddy (nice smile hun :)

Lots of White Fun

Look what we got yesterday.

We did not take an official measurement but there is at least 10" of new snow. So while Jaxton did this (look at those cheeks)

I got to 'play' in the snow for the fist time this year and dig out my car and then cause I was having so much fun (no I am not being sarcastic I really did love doing it) I dug out Robie's truck as well.

Where is my Head?!?

I read about this in all the pregnancy books, this feeling of confusion and exhaustion. Asking the same question two minutes later because you already forgot the answer. Forgetting where you put your keys down (not really anything new) but then finding them and forgetting why you needed them. Making a to do list and then loosing it. Walking out of the grocery store only to find your shopping list while looking for your keys and realizing you forgot the most important ingredient in the fudge you are making for the bake sale. Not being able to finish one nights worth of dishes before your back/hips hurt and you have to sit down (thank God for Robie).

But I suppose it is all preparation for when little man decides to show the world his face and I get no sleep at all and will be walking around in a haze. I am not complaining, this is all just so new to me. When I sit back on the couch after half the dishes are done and the unfolded laundry is at my feet, and Jaxton leans his little butt against my side and stretches his arms I remember to savor these moments, they won't last much longer, as I am down to 6 weeks.

I am also starting to feel the nesting instinct kick in full time. I have been craking the whip to get the little things done around the house. As you saw the bathroom is finally done, and I am so excited to say my kitchen island is ALMOST done :) Robie remade the drawers to his liking, I finally picked out the top. We got it yesterday and I looks great. Now all that it needs is a few coats of paint that I plan on starting tonight, luckily I can do most of that sitting down. We have someone coming to look at the old tub that I will be sad to see go but I don't want it living in the backyard all winter.

I don't know how many times I have walked into his room and rearranged all the stuffed monkeys we have collected already. I have sorted his clothes by size, then again by sleeve length, and again by cuteness. I have another wonderful friend giving me more little boy clothes so I will get to do it all over again.

Okay anyway long post lots of rambling but I wanted it all written down somewhere, and I am not good at keeping a journal so here internet here are my feelings. Like I said I will have project updates soon! My girls (funny I still think of them like that) are also hosting the Blastoff Tournament this weekend, so if I can remember to take my camera to the rink I will have hockey pictures.

Ooh it is currently 45 and sunny out but I can't help dreaming of this...

Fathers Day

It has finally been much to nice outside to sit in front of the computer and type so here are the last two weekends in one.

Last Saturday Marcel, Sidonie and I spent all day with our dad. We took a trip to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to take a quick peak at their new big bull elk display. After ooing all over them for a bit we pickup the quads, dog and food and headed out into the wonderful Montana mountains. We went a few miles outside of Lolo to Elk Meadows road, unloaded and headed for the meadows and lakes. Bones the quad dog sat behind dad the whole time.

We got back to the truck and had everything loaded just before the big rain storm hit, lucky us. When we got back home dad grilled up the BBQ ribs he had been slow cooking all day...hello fall off the bone, melt in your mouth ribs!

Hope you had a good day Daddy-o!!

This Saturday we spent all morning at farmers/ peoples market in downtown Missoula. Sidonie and I wondered the streets looking at all the beautiful homemade wares and lovely food. They also had a car show set up at Caras park with lots of old beautiful cars.

While we were having fun downtown my wonderful husband was home working away. He built and painted three screens for our windows so we can get some air flowing. He also built another shelf in the garage to store more of our motorcycle gear and parts. He also brought home 1/2 of an old barrel and we dug a hole in the ground and made a fire pit for those lazy nights.

Just a Little Rant

I walked into my office at 7:30 this morning and this is what I found.

I am not a morning person, 9am is early. Luckily I had a coffee in my hand and a bag of chocolates in my drawer because I could tell it was going to be one of 'those' mornings.

The person that sits here Friday afternoons got bored, nosy or both and went thought the pile of unfinished work orders, pulled out every single one and placed a sticky note on it asking me if it was done (in his terrible handwriting).

IT IS NOT MY JOB TO KNOW IF THEY ARE DONE!!!

The way things have always worked is that they guys in the shop hand me the 'hard copy' when the job is done, I attach it to the 'soft copy', price it out and call them or bill them.

Not only did he leave me 8 piles of paper (each with their own sticky note) he used all of my stickys! He could not walk to the top of the stairs and get me a new pack! It is little things like that that put it over the top.

So, the rebel that I am, I piled them all in the corner, sipped my coffee, read the news, you know real stuff (CNN) and the fun stuff (AOL/PEOPLE) and silently told him to ForkOff and I dealt with the piles after I had had my coffee.
